Building connections online is one of the most important parts of a successful business. When you leverage social media, you can connect quickly with people all over the world who have the same goals and passions you do.
Finding fantastic Facebook groups (especially if you’re a female entrepreneur) can be super challenging though. Since most groups are closed these days, you can’t really know which groups are good (and which aren’t) without committing to join.
How To Be Successful In Groups (The Non-Spammy Way)
Before get into the groups themselves, let’s chat a minute about how to use groups and build connections:
DO: Help as many people as you can for free- answer questions, give resources (especially if they aren’t your own) and engage.
DON’T: Show up to only drop your link (this includes blog posts, discovery call links). And as a group admin myself, do not send private messages to people without their consent.
DO: Answer the questions the admins ask before you join.
DON’T: Answer the questions and use the opportunity to critique how the group is run. Seriously. Last week, someone requested to join a group I admin and answered the no spam question with a rant about how that’s not community. Guess who didn’t get in?
DO: Answer questions you may not know the answer to. Google it if need be. You would be amazed at how many people don’t. So when you do, you can look like a genius.
DON’T: Only show up on promo days. Starting out, I was completely guilty of this. You join a lot of groups to be seen and forget to be helpful. Hang out, make friends, you will find success.
